BulletinBarn is here
August 26, 2026
If you've ever tried to sell a few goats or track down laying hens around here, you know how it goes. You post where you can and hope the right person happens to scroll by. You check the corkboard at the feed store. You ask around, and somebody knows somebody. It works, eventually.
BulletinBarn is that same neighbor-to-neighbor trade, on a board actually built for it.
What it is
A classifieds board for animals. Livestock, poultry, horses, dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles — listed by the people who raise them, sold directly to the people who want them.
BulletinBarn is for the whole country. We're starting in North Idaho and Eastern Washington because that's home, and a board works best with real depth in one place before it spreads. As word gets around, it grows wherever people bring it. If you're visiting from somewhere else entirely — welcome. Stick around, and tell the people in your corner about it.
And it starts with animals, but the vision is bigger: a marketplace for people who raise, grow, build, and make things, and who'd rather buy from a neighbor than a warehouse. Homesteaders, small farms, off-grid folks, people who support local. Animals first. More to come.
What you can do right now
- Search by what you'd actually call it.Type "chickens" and you'll find them, whatever breed the listing happens to name.
- See what's near you.Every listing shows the distance, and you can sort by nearest first.
- Message sellers privately.Ask your questions through the site instead of putting your phone number on a public board.
- Save what you're thinking about.Heart a listing and come back to it.
- Post your own animals, with photos.Every listing gets a photo, free accounts included.
- Have your own profile page.A banner photo, a bio, where you're at, and what you raise — so people can see who they're dealing with before they drive out.
- Flag a problem if you hit one. There's a report button on every listing and every profile.
What we don't do
We don't handle money between buyers and sellers. No processing, no escrow, no holding funds, and we never take a cut of a sale. You and the other person settle up directly, the way you always have. Paid plans exist for sellers who want more listings or more visibility — that has nothing to do with your sale.
We don't ship.Local pickup only. You see the animal in person before anything changes hands.
Browsing and messaging are free, and always will be.Look around, save listings, contact a seller — no account fees, no charge to reach out.
The founding offer
Sign up free before December 31, 2026 and keep 3 free listings for life. Not three months — for as long as you have the account.
About this page
This is where updates land. Every month or so I'll post what's new here.
I should be straight with you about something: BulletinBarn is one person. I'm Michael, I'm from Sandpoint, and I'm building this myself. That means it moves at the speed one person can move — but it also means there's nobody above me deciding it isn't worth the trouble.
I've got real plans for where this goes, and I'm in it for the long haul. Free accounts matter as much as paid ones — a board is only worth something if people are actually on it. If something's broken, missing, or just annoying, tell me. I'd rather hear it than not.
The first real listing on BulletinBarn is still up for grabs. Everything on the board right now is an example I put together myself, marked as such, so you can see what this looks like with animals on it. Nobody's posted for real yet.
If you've got animals, post them. You'll be first on the board.
